Just had to write and say again what a wonderful time we had. You are a most gracious host. You have a place that is the ultimate getaway. I can't think of one thing you could do to make it any better. Hope to see you again, Cristie Murray (newest member of the spank me sisters)  Read their Poem
Yes, Virginia, there are mountains in Texas, but the very best one is Ashley Mountain overlooking Lake of the Pines. There's deer, raccoon, birds, green grass, big East Texas trees, bonfires, crystal blue pool, "Cats", the "gator", music, dancing, games and the lodge. But best of all you can make or enjoy your best friends and life long memories there. And there is a man who brings gifts, offers hugs, reflects on life, listens, and tells stories about the mountain and the wildlife - his name is JR - and he is better than Santa Claus! He rides up on the gator with a smile and he is ready to be the best host you have ever had! We Love Ashley Mountain! She Who Ties Wood w/ JR from the Ashley Mountain Sisterhood - Deer Camp Weekend!!
J.R. Thank you very much for helping us in our time of need. We had to evacuate from Louisiana due to Hurricane KATRINA. We had a room at the Holiday Inn in Shreveport , La for two nights and we could not find any other place to stay so Holiday Inn called a Bed & Breakfast and The lady Jeanne told us about your Beautiful Haven and we called you and you welcomed us like you were our family . We had 10 adults, 1 elderly grand mother, 1 teenager, 4 children and don't forget our 5 dogs. And we were very comfortable. We had a great time even though it was really bad back home. Our children thank you very much for taking them to feed the WILD CATS!!! ha ha. And it was great to see those beautiful deer. Also tell Rhonda thank you for the sweet potato pies & the jam it was very good. You have such a big heart we will be back. Tell your Doctor friend Thank you. My son is getting better. Thanks a Bunch GOD Bless you

Thank you so much for looking for my ring. It will turn up if it is supposed to. I have a wonderful husband who is very understanding - and he did want to buy me the larger one. It certainly did not spoil the great time I had on the mountain. It was truly an idyllic weekend. All of the special touches (the fires, music, basket...) rival the nicest hotels I have stayed at anywhere. I look forward to coming back hiking in another season, even though the dogwoods and violets were amazing, and spending another great weekend on the mountain.

I have no words to describe the outstanding place this was for an outdoor wedding. My daughter was married on September the 8th and we are still getting phone calls from guests that just had to share how much they enjoyed the setting for the wedding. JR and Pearl made us feel like family and were there for us to assist in making this special day ..just that SPECIAL. The house was spotless and had everything a guest might need! the grounds were well kept and beautiful as was the pool. It was a treasure of a find and we will be repeat guests. I am home but...just feeling like I am still there...still witnessing the love between the bride and groom, still watching my son diving into the pool, still seeing the magnificent show in the warm night's sky... still talking and laughing...and I STILL can't believe there were TWO shooting stars in one night! I had a wonderful time...and now I have wonderful memories...Thanks so much for making it possible!
With each repeat visit, "The Mountain" becomes more & more special to us. The deer were magnificent to watch - maybe before long we'll have them eating out of our hands! Until we return (and we will) be safe & happy.

What a weekend at a wonderful place. Everyone had such a great time & your incredible hosting made everything more special. Word cannot express the gratitude and appreciation for making Scott & Michelle's party so special. To see lil' brother  turn 30 with all his great friends & then the surprise proposal was a great experience. The memories & "moments" will last forever & your hospitality has made an everlasting impression as well.

George & I really enjoyed escaping for the weekend to the mountain. The peace and quite & connection to nature that was much needed. We'll bring our children next time so they can experience the mountain first hand & not just the pictures. Truly beautiful view puts you at peace with the world

The only bad thing we can say about this place is that our time here was to short. We also truly loved the privacy and the total peace & quite. You are blessed to have such a lovely mountain and it is very generous of you to share it with others. We will definitely be back & spread the word along the way.

Is Heaven going to be this nice? (I think so!) Beautiful grounds, pool, view, and house. Spectacular sunset, loved watching eagles and deer, hearing the birds chirp, and feeling the breeze blow. How nice it is to feel life again. We Gave our daughter & son in-law a night here for their honeymoon and now they gave it back to us for our 29th wedding anniversary. Taught them well, didn't we. This place is Fabulous.

Thanks again J. R. - This was our 3rd visit.  I guess we are just getting old when he asked me what  I wanted for my birthday and it was to go to the mountain and relax. He didn't even argue with me. Hope you have a Good Birthday on the 11th.  we will see you after the Fair.
